Subtle to bold, color should be a good experience. We at Grantham Hair Headquarters have years of experience specializing in color and highlites. We use a German color named Kadus, one of which has the lowest ammonia on the market, as well as longest lasting vibrancy and shine. Color is one of the ways you can dramatically change your appearance without surgery.

Semi-permanent hair color is a coloring system that is applied to the hair and will last for up to 6 weeks, gradually fading. Semi-permanent color is great for someone that is looking for a softer more natural appearance without a dramatic regrowth line. The coverage on gray hair is less, but this is great for someone that does not want to commit to the up keep of permanent color. The more gray and resistant your hair becomes the less effective the semi-permanent color process will be for you.

Permanent color is just what it says “permanent”. The only way to get remove it is to let it grow out, cut it off or bleach it out. Permanent color is for people who want to completely cover gray hair, lighten or darken their natural hair with another color tone. The maintenance with permanent color is more than other color systems. On average you will need to retouch your color every 6 to 8 weeks, depending upon the speed of hair growth.

Corrective color is for all those ” home” colors gone bad. Imagine if you bought a box of color from the store and expect it to come out the color on the box and it comes out orange, purple, or sometimes even green. This is where we would suggest seeing a professional to help solve and correct this problem. We suggest you don’t try this at home, it could be more damaging (to both your hair and your wallet) than it has to be. Corrective color is also charged by the hour not by the service.

There are two techniques of highlighting that we perform. We can use color or bleach when highlighting. Foiling is a technique that allows us to use more than one color at a time. This gives the appearance of depth to the look hair by highlighting (lighten) and lowlighting (darken) at the same time. Foiling is very versatile, where you can highlight a small or a large section of the hair, giving light subtle streaks or bold chunky streaks. You can customize more with this method.

Pulling through a cap is another method we use. This is a faster more cost affective way of highlighting or lowlighting. Unfortunately we can only use one color with this method. Cap highlights are great for someone who wants and all over even highlight. We can pull strands to get light, medium and heavy highlight effects.

Length of coloring services depend on each persons hair length and method of color they choose. Appointments can range from 1 to 3 hours.
